God Can Give Me Victory over Sin!
Now we are children of God . . . when he appears, we shall be like him . . .
1 John 3:2
If you are God's child, you have an enemy–Satan! Satan probably thought he had won the battle when Jesus died on the cross. That was the most important battle of all time! Jesus Christ died to take the punishment for your sins. Jesus won when God the Father brought Him back to life! His victory over Satan is your victory, too. Now you can have victory over sin as you trust God to help you.
But Satan doesn't want you to have victory over sin. He tries to keep you from obeying God. He doesn't want you to please God. Fighting Satan by yourself is hard because Satan is stronger than you are! But remember the Holy Spirit inside you is "greater than the one [Satan] that is in the world" (1 John 4:4). The Holy Spirit helps you to do what's right when Satan tries to get you to sin.
You need to ask God for help every day. Learn as much as you can from the Bible. It will help you not to sin. God's Word and prayer are your weapons against Satan. Trust God to give you victory every day.
