How Do I Give a Testimony?
. . . Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect . . . 1 Peter 3:15
"Sara, would you be willing to give your testimony at church next Sunday night?" Pastor Carson asked. Giving a testimony means telling others how you came to trust the Lord Jesus as your Savior and what He means to you. Sara was a little scared about being asked to share her testimony, but when she thought about her wonderful Savior, she was willing to do it. She had never given a testimony before. Sara's Sunday school teacher helped her prepare.
They prayed and asked God for help, and then her teacher suggested she write her testimony. Sara wrote what her life was like before she trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Then she wrote where and how she made the decision to believe in Him. Sara thought it would be important to include a Bible verse. She wrote out the verse, John 1:12. The last thing Sara wrote was how much Jesus means to her. She wrote about how He helps her to say "no" to sin and to obey God.
Sara then practiced saying what she had written. Now she was ready to share her testimony at any time with others. What about you? Would you be ready to share your testimony?
